A multi-platinum music producer, Dizzy (aka Shawn McKenzie, Sir Scratch) took some time off to reinvent himself, focus on caring for his family, and master both analog and digital skills. He is hard at work producing a new EP, “The Art of My Noise”. He is currently mixing and mastering several of his own songs, pulling from the work that he has done over the last few years. Collaborating with multiple artists, he is introducing his vision to the mainstream, his multi-platinum resume preceding him. After turning out hits for such globally-known artists as Nas, Madonna, TLC, Backstreet Boys, Seal, the O’Jays, Main Source, Queen Latifah and MC Lyte he is ready to go global himself.
Dizzy has displayed a clear gift for ingenuity, his style always evolving and growing. His dedication to music, however, is a constant, as strong as it ever was. Growing up in Queens, he took a detour with the group Main Source, making his dreams of entering the industry come true. He learned from his fast-paced environment that he could never slow down – and certainly never quit. This attitude shines through in all his music, and it has led directly to his massive success – to date, 20 platinum records.
Whether he was collaborating with Nas or TLC, Queen Latifah or O’Jays, he was always looking inward first, tapping into the musical well inside himself for inspiration and direction, and then looking outward, seeing what the industry needed and not doing what everyone else was doing. From there, he applied himself wholeheartedly to music production – the results as clear as the sounds that he has put his name to.
Dizzy was born in Toronto, and he is the founder of Magnetic Entertainment. He is as motivated as ever to make a lasting impression on music at large.
